Privacy Policy
ShinyFindr is made by Fern Drop Studios - an independent app studio run by one person. This policy explains what data the app collects and why. The short version: very little, and none of it is sold.
Who we are
This app is made by Fern Drop Studios. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, see the contact details at the bottom of this page.
What this app does
This app is a card collecting companion tool designed to help users track and manage lists of trading cards.
Users can organise their personal card lists.
Information we collect
We try to collect as little personal information as possible.
Information stored on your device
This app stores data locally on your device so it can function properly.
This may include:
- card lists and wishlist items
- custom list names and organisation
- app preferences and settings
This information is stored only on your device.
You can export a backup of this data at any time from the Settings screen. The exported file is saved to your device and is not sent anywhere by the app.
When you use the hunt list export feature, the app will ask for permission to save the exported image to your device’s photo library. The app does not read or access any existing photos on your device.
Advertising data
If ads are shown in the app, we use Google AdMob to display them.
AdMob may collect or receive information such as:
- device identifiers
- IP address
- approximate location
- app usage information
- ad performance and interaction data
This information may be used by Google and its partners to provide, improve, and measure ads.
You can read more about how Google uses data here: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Crash reporting and diagnostics
This app uses Sentry to collect anonymous crash and error reports.
If the app crashes or encounters an unexpected error, a report is automatically sent to Sentry’s servers. This report may include:
- the error message and where in the app it occurred
- your device model and operating system version
- your app version
No card lists, personal names, or other user-created content are included in these reports. Crash reports help us identify and fix bugs to improve app stability.
You can read Sentry’s privacy policy at: https://sentry.io/privacy
Network requests
This app connects to external services to retrieve card and set information. These requests do not include your personal user data or card lists, and are used only to display card information within the app.
Information we do not intentionally collect
We do not intentionally ask for or collect:
- your name
- your home address
- your phone number
- your contacts
- the contents of your photo library (the app may save images to your photo library if you use the export feature, but it does not read your existing photos)
- your microphone recordings
- your camera data
unless a future version of the app clearly tells you otherwise.
How we use information
We use information to:
- make the app function correctly
- store and display your card lists
- improve app stability and performance
- identify and fix crashes and errors (via Sentry)
- show ads, if ads are enabled
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
If advertising is enabled, data may be shared with advertising providers such as Google AdMob in order to serve and measure ads.
Anonymous crash and error data may be shared with Sentry in order to monitor app stability and fix bugs.
Data retention
Local app data remains on your device until you:
- delete it within the app
- clear app data through your device settings
- uninstall the app
Third-party services such as Google AdMob and Sentry may retain data according to their own policies.
Children’s privacy
This app is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page and we will take steps to remove that information.
Security
We take reasonable steps to keep the app simple and limit unnecessary data collection. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Your choices
You can:
- stop using the app at any time
- uninstall the app
- clear app data through your device settings
Depending on your region, you may also be offered ad consent choices when ads are shown.
